Veteran's Benefits

Using Your Benefits at Colorado College

Any questions regarding using your Veteran's Benefit can be directed to Ashley Nicholas, School Certifying Official for Colorado College. Her role is to verify your enrollment to the VA in order for you to receive your educational tuition assistance. If you need further financial planning support, Associate Director of Financial Aid Operations, Libby Fletcher, is another great contact on campus to get to know.

As VA students, your responsibility is to notify your Certifying Official if any of the following occur as these can impact how the VA reimburses you:

  • Increase/decrease in registered credit hours
  • Withdraw from a class
  • Withdraw from the College
  • Change of Address
  • Receive a non-passing grade (Y, NC, WF) or incomplete grade (I)

Most answers to questions concerning your individual benefits can be found at www.gibill.va.gov.

Thank you for submitting your paperwork! Once your C.O.E., Application for Veteran Education Benefits, and Statement of Understanding are received, a VA file will be created in VA-Once and enrollment certification will be submitted to the VA within a 25-day window from the start of your first block in the upcoming semester.

Enrollment certifications are submitted to the VA in the month prior to each semester: August for Fall, January for Spring, and June for Summer upon request as Summer is a non-mandatory semester.
