Fall 2025, Block 1 Classroom Assignments
*Please Note* shifts in assignments can take place on days 1 and 2 as enrollments grow; please check Banner SSB for the most current classroom locations.
Classroom Assignments | Process Overview:
- Classrooms for academic offerings are assigned on a blockly basis through the Registrar's Office.
- Drafted assignments are completed and reviewed over weeks 2-3 of the previous block.
- Final assignments are distributed in week 4 of the previous block.
- Assignments shifts are still possible into the new block as they can depend on enrollment flux
- Factors considered when assigning space includes: enrollment and limit, room capacity, essentials & accommodations. When able, assignments will happily accomodate other requested factors.

Registrar Key Dates | Fall
Term Check-In (TCI) is the formal reporting process in which students confirm their attendance to on-campus or CC-led programs for the upcoming term. Students at CC participate in term check-in 2x a year - once over Block 1 for the Fall and once over Block 5 for the Spring. Following the close of TCI, the semester census report is captured (Fall Snapshot). Those who are studying in courses abroad that are NOT led by CC faculty or on an approved leave of absence for the term are not required to complete this round of check-in.
- REPORTING PORTAL: Banner SSB, Student Menu (SSB)
- HOW TO: Term Check-In will be red-flagged for attention until the deadline closes. Follow the Check-In screen prompts until the end. In TCI, students will have the opportunity to review their obligations, update their current information incuding preferred name, addresses, FERPA authorization, and more! Once completed, simply close the browser tab and refresh!
- A MISSING/INCOMPLETE Student menu will have restrictive access (<10 items)
- A COMPLETED/INELIGIBLE Student menu will have full access (10+ items)
- Full access is granted instantly upon completion; red flag will remain.

HOW TO APPLY
Apply to Graduate is the graduation application available from the Student Banner menu. Students who have reached a *23 unit threshold are eligible to open the application.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO APPLY?
Applications are required for all graduating students. It is also the student's responsibility to complete their degree requirement obligations (32-units w/met residency + gen-Eds + major(s) = ready for degree conferral review). By completing a graduation application, students are confirming their intentions to graduate; opting in/out of ceremony participation and announcements; and initiating a review of their record by the registrar's office to be certified for a degree. Responses to applications are shared with the following stakeholders: registrar, advisors, department chairs, college events.
GRAD DEADLINES & WHAT’S NEXT
Winter Graduates| Apply by Nov 20 (11/20)
- A finalized applicant list will be shared with college events for participation eligibility to Winter celebration upon deadline close.
- All degree requirements must be completed by the end of Block 4 (including any I or IP pending grades) for degree conferral.
- The official conferment process begins in Block 5.
Spring Graduates| Apply by Apr 17 (4/17)
- A finalized applicant list will be shared with college events for participation eligibility to Spring Commencement upon deadline close.
- All degree requirements must be completed by the end of Block 8 (including any I or IP pending grades) for degree conferral. See "Marching Only Eligibility Conditions" for ceremonial participation for those who fall short of completing all requirements by end of Block 8; listed under, "Graduation Tips from the Registrar" in the section.
- The official conferment process begins in Block 8.
PREREGISTRATION FOR BLOCKS 5 - 8
All students, returning and new first-years, will participate in Spring Preregistration in block 3. If a student has already created a saved draft of their spring course selections, they will be able to either revise or formally submit for processing. Spring Preregistration will formally process course registrations for blocks 5 thru 8. Students will be placed into courses using the Seniority-Based system which factors in units earned from CC in addition to credit transferred in from other institutions. Units NOT considered will come from AP, IB, GCE, “advanced standing” credit to remove inequity issues.
THE PREREGISTRATION OPEN PERIOD FOR SPRING 2026 WILL BE: 11/3-11/21 (announcement emails to be sent week 2)
Registration at CC begins with a preregistration process (outlined here). Once students are preregistered for their upcoming semester(s) and receive their results, the live registration application called Add/Drop is available for use and can be accessed from Banner SSB or by clicking "Register Here" in Stellic. This application is open to students 24/7 and is the official registration portal after the initial Preregistration period (Canvas is NOT a registration portal). In Add/Drop, students can change their registrations at their convenience, get instant access to canvas materials, and have drop notifications sent on their behalf during the active (current) block and appropriate to the registration deadline. Add/Drop enables students to register for a new course including Half Block, swap out courses, and make grade-track changes during allotted timeframes.
All registration changes must be completed by the appropriate deadline per block.
Applications for Spring 2026 remain open (Winter Candidates due 11/2)
Applications oprn at the end of Block 2 in the Fall.
Apply early! Even if you aren't sure you'll make it due to transitory situations (i.e. unsure of graduation progress, deciding between majors, double majoring, attempting to squeeze in a minor or an abroad program, etc.) These should NOT prevent a student from applying! In fact, applications are especially necessary for plans in flux (an application can always be removed or bumped out if intent should change).
Understand how your plans and degree progress align by taking these next steps towards graduation:
- Apply to Graduate
- Declare your major(s) and/or minor(s)
- Schedule a graduation review appointment with your advisor(s).
- Proof your Stellic record in your advising appointment as this is your first step in verifying requirements have been met. Do not ignore (red) marks as they indicate something is missing. Students should work with their advisor(s) and department chair to understand why.
- If a course should be counting in your progress on Stellic, an exception must be made.
- All requirements should reflect either completed (green) or registered to be completed (yellow) by end of Block 4 (for Winter Grads) or Block 8 (for Spring Grads) to remain eligible for graduation.
- Students who have an incomplete Stellic record should anticipate email outreach from the Registrar to verify accuracy, resolve potential concerns, and/or to discuss options moving forward. Please do not ignore communication outreach from the Registrar’s Office as this could jeopardize an ability to resolve an issue that keeps you from graduating on time.
- Send official transcripts/reports for any pending/missing transfer work to the Registrar's Office.
- Finish remaining requirements! This includes any remaining “IP” or “I” marks on their transcript by end of Block 4 (for Winter Grads) or Block 8 (for Spring Grads).
- If there is missing transfer credit on the student's record, an official transcript must be sent to the Registrar’s Office ASAP.
- Stay informed with graduation events from the College Events office
Students must meet all degree requirements by end of Block 8 to graduate and receive a diploma. Degree requirements include: major, general education, and 32-unit. For students who are within their final two degree requirements by end of Block 8 will continue to remain eligible to participate at Commencement but will not graduate and receive a diploma until remaining requirements are finished. If you think you’ll fall in this category, please apply and reach out to our office so that we can discuss a marching only option that keeps you on the list for the Commencement ceremony.

Students who are noticing limited functionality in registration or a reduced SSB/Banner Student Menu (on or after 1/05)... Youneed to check-in for the term and officially report to the College that you are taking classes! You can do so by following the steps below. Once completed, know that the red flag DOES NOT DISAPPEAR until the TCI/Term Check-In open period is closed at the end of Block 5.
How to Complete SpringTerm Check-In
- Login to Banner SSB (your Student Menu will default to a restricted list).
- Click on “Term Check-In” (marked with a red flag)
- In TCI, students will have the opportunity to review their obligations, update their current information including preferred name, addresses, FERPA authorization, and more!
- Once completed, close the Check-In browser tab and refresh your screen. That’s it!
If functionality in registration was restored and your Student Menu displays a full list, you have completed the requirement. Failure to complete TCI during the open period or respond to reminders will result in dropped registrations. Don’t risk this – especially true for students meeting eligibility conditions (i.e., athletics, financial aid, and immigration status). Complete the process early – approximately 5 minutes in duration.

In the Spring, students will participate in Fall Preregistration in block 7 to plan out their next full academic year.
