Application & New Hire FAQs
Yes. A separate application is needed for each position.
Applications are only accepted for posted positions.
Applications for vacant positions are accepted as soon as the position is posted. Applications are accepted until the position closing date.
Once a position is posted and a candidate pool has built, the search team will begin looking at applications. Using a rubric, they will evaluate all applications and invite the top candidates to virtual interviews. After the virtual interview, the top candidates will be invited to an on-campus interview. Rubrics will also be used during the interview phases of the hiring process. After the on-campus interviews, a finalist will be selected and offered the position.
Depending on the needs of the department and the schedule of the search committee, you should expect to hear something within three to four weeks after the job has been posted. Candidates will be notified if they are selected for an interview or not. You may email Human Resources at HR@coloradocollege.edu to check on the status of your application.
Reference checks are typically done on final candidates. We will contact your references listed or reach out to you if additional information is needed.
You will be contacted by the hiring supervisor with an offer of employment.
Colorado College offers an excellent benefit package to full and part time staff. Please refer to the benefits section of this web site for additional information.
Colorado College strives to provide the finest liberal arts education in the country to a diverse community of students. Achieving this mission requires an equally diverse group of highly qualified employees who are fairly compensated for their contributions to our community. Our compensation philosophy centers on several key commitments:
- Integrating livable wage principles into decisions
- The belief that compensation should contribute to our mission by helping to retain our current employees and attract new ones
- Equity drives retention and supports our anti-racism commitment
- Compensation decisions must be sustainable over time
Colorado College uses market analysis and compensation bands as part of the compensation process.
All staff are paid semi-monthly on the 15th and on the last working day of each month.
Employees receive feedback in a variety of ways at different times throughout the year. Formally, employees and their supervisors meet for Performance Conversations quarterly (in April, July, October, and January).
All benefit-eligible employees are enrolled in asynchronous online orientation modules called CCNEW. CCNEW covers important information for new employees including campus resources and amenities, policies, and an overview of our benefits. New employees are also required to complete Civil Rights and Title IX training during the first two weeks working at the college. You will receive information about how to access these trainings on your first day.
HR will contact you with more information when it is time to make your benefits elections as a new employee. Keep in mind, benefits can be changed during Open Enrollment (in May) of each year, and at any time due to a qualifying life event.
