The Ahlberg Gear House is now accepting in-person reservations and we are excited to help you get outside faster!

Individuals can come during Gear House hours and reserve equipment up to a week in advance. Our staff will prepare your gear for you, you just come back and pick it up on your rental start date!  

• Note: Payment is required up front and no refunds will be offered for any cancellations or changes to a reservation.

The Ahlberg Gear House can be a great resource in helping equip our students for departmental or academic field trips. If your department is interested in reserving equipment for an academic class, program or event, please complete the "Departmental Rental Request Form" at least two weeks in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Note: There are two different options for Departmental Rentals - Group Rentals and Individual Rentals. Please review the information below prior to submitting the form to select which option is better for you.

Group rentals allow for equipment that will be used by many, to be rented by a single person, this may be best when a large number of the same type of items are being rented, (i.e. snowshoes for the entire class).

Costs Covered By: Department (Journal Entry)

• A representative of the department rents all items for the group under their name and the rental is charged to the department through a Journal Entry.
  
• The representative/department is responsible for all items rented, returning all items (at the same time) and for covering damage/replacement/late fees as needed. 

Individual rentals are when each person comes and rents equipment under their own name and is best when the equipment needs vary from person to person or the items are dependent on size (i.e. clothing, boots, backpacks, etc).

Costs Covered By: Department (Journal Entry)

• Each individual comes during Gear House hours and rents equipment under their name.
• The individual is responsible for all items rented, for the return of their items and for covering damage/replacement/late fees as needed.
