Random Acts of Kindness: By organizing collective kindness initiatives, such as distributing goodie bags or sharing compliments, participants in CC RAOK promote positivity to members of the CC and Colorado Springs community. CC RAOK believes that it only takes a small, simple gesture to make someone’s day, and we strive to make as many days as possible through intentional acts of kindness that do not need to be earned, but are distributed “randomly,” to anyone who crosses our path. In the process, CC RAOK strives to create a kind and inclusive community within our club where all members feel safe and comfortable and create joy for themselves by bringing joy to others!
InJustice Watch: Monitors local judges and attorneys to keep them accountable for unfair treatment and seeks to increase student awareness on what goes on in the local justice system.
Prison Project: seeks to resist the prison industrial complex and support those impacted by it in every way we can. We believe that our prison system is fundamentally racist, classist, and oppressive to those most marginalized in our country. We believe it is the responsibility of every one of us to effect change in this system with all the resources we have at our availability.
Allies of Unhoused Youth: Allies of Unhoused Youth aims to create collaboration between the CC community and local organizations to positively impact local youth experiencing homelessness or at-risk of being unhoused. It does so through redistribution of CC excess, situation of CC students in the local socio-political context and analysis and activation of student action. This club is founded on the values of wealth-redistribution and community involvement.
