Dyslexia Specialist Learning Outcomes:
- Learn the structures of written English and the five components of reading
- Utilize instructional strategies and methods such as simultaneous multisensory, systematic, cumulative, direct instruction, diagnostic teaching, synthetic and analytic instruction
- Engage in progress monitoring for accuracy and fluency
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of dyslexia, related written-language disorders, and of the identification of specific learning differences
- Keep abreast of current advances within one's field and related areas
- Through the capstone, identify and access professionally relevant resources, synthesize existing knowledge, and apply knowledge to professional tasks
- Show commitment to professional development through engagement in professional organizations
