Major/Intended Major: Neuroscience 

Things I'm involved with at CC: Native Student Union, Concert Band, First Gen Tigers, BIPOC club. 

Why I'm excited to be a Stroud Mentor this year: Being a stroud graduate makes me more compassionate to give back to the program that allowed me to go to college. I love meeting new people, and providing a safe space to ask questions and learn.

Fun fact about me: I have owned bunnies since I was 8 and have them tattooed on me!

Bryan Buendia Sevilla

Where you call home: Colorado Springs, Colorado

Major/Intended Major: Engineering and Math Economics 

Things I'm involved with at CC: Investment Portfolio and intending to do volunteering at Food to Power and Habitat for Humanity. 

Why I'm excited to be a Stroud Mentor this year: Knowing that I will be able to work with students that come from similar backgrounds like me, it excites me to know that I can help students achieve their goals and become better versions of themselves.

Fun fact about me: I enjoy playing chess.

Dominic Gray

Where you call home: Colorado Springs, CO

Major/Intended Major: Math Economics

Things I'm involved with at CC: Investment Portfolio, Club Baseball, and Investment Banking Club

Why I'm excited to be a Stroud Mentor this year: I am excited to see and help all the Stroud Mentees go through this stage of their lives!

Fun fact about me: I was born in Germany.

Kevin Gallegos

Where you call home: Colorado Springs, Colorado

Major/Intended Major: Undecided

Things I'm involved with at CC: I’m still getting settled into campus and exploring different opportunities, but I’m interested in getting involved with community service and campus organizations as I figure out what areas I’m most passionate about.

Why I'm excited to be a Stroud Mentor this year: I’m excited to be a Stroud Mentor because I know how overwhelming the transition into college can feel, especially when you’re still figuring things out. I want to be someone students can feel comfortable reaching out to for support, advice, or reassurance as they navigate their first year and find their own path.

Fun fact about me: I enjoy hiking and spending time outdoors.

Odirichi Igwe

Where you call home: Texas

Major/Intended Major: Sociology

Things I'm involved with at CC: Mock trial, Orchestra, and the Library

Why I'm excited to be a Stroud Mentor this year: I am excited to get to support the mentees and host fun events!

Fun fact about me: I collect and make different types of tea. My favorite is Chai lattes.

 

Zaniya Bruno Munn

Where you call home: St. Michaels, Barbados 

Major/Intended Major: Double Major in Psychology and Sociology with a Minor in Philosophy 

Things I'm involved with at CC: Secretary for Caribbean and African Student Union, Black Student Union, Black Women at CC, CC Students for Christ, CC Injustice Watch and many more. I am also a D3 Track and Field Athlete and Intramural Basketball Athlete, and I work for the Athletics Event Staff and Intramural Referee Staff on campus.

Why I'm excited to be a Stroud Mentor this year: Having the privilege to have been apart of the first Stroud Scholars cohort and now to being a mentor, i envision guiding and supporting students who are in the same shoes I once was. Building community and lifelong network is a crucial aspect i am so excited to help bring to light this year. Seeing how beautifully Stroud has evolved since my years in the program is an experience I love witnessing and being apart of as well as learning from the younger students who are all at different stages of their lives. Stroud keeps my heart full and a huge aspect of my academic and personal career.

Fun fact about me: My natural birth eye color was blue & my eyes change colors between gray and green depending on my mood
