New Faculty Orientation

The Crown Center for Teaching is committed to supporting new faculty as they transition to CC and the Block Plan, setting the stage for success during their first year and beyond. New Faculty Orientation (NFO) is our opportunity to build community as educators at CC, connecting with colleagues across campus and fostering a sense of collaboration. It is open to all new tenure-track and new one-year visiting faculty members. We will build upon the expertise that each of you brings to our campus and immerse ourselves in the world of teaching on the Block Plan. We will engage in sessions focused on inclusive, equitable, and antiracist pedagogies, active learning strategies, and student support services. By the end of NFO, attendees will have developed a draft syllabus for their first course, including classroom activities and assessment approaches tailored to the Block Plan's unique structure.

Save the date: Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 17-18, 2026. Sign up to confirm your attendance.
