Outreach

Outreach Committee

The Outreach Committee is tasked with maintaining and improving the relationship between the students of Colorado College and the greater Colorado Springs community. We encourage Colorado College students to get involved in the local community in whatever way they see fit, whether it's as an artist, community organizer, member of a faith community or other identity group, athlete, mentor, etc. In this work, we partner closely with organizations both on and off campus to connect students with local resources that resonate with their experience, identity, and goals. Finally, we appoint students to Campus Committees (Curriculum Executive Committee, Budget Committee, etc.). Applications for next year's committees will go out 7th block, so stay tuned!

What we are working on now:

  1. During semester 1, we partnered with CC Mobile Arts and a local vintage store to host a live music and vintage store pop up. With over 200 students in attendance, CC students were able to support locally owned BIPOC small businesses while listening to music! Additionally, we hosted a post-secondary readiness panel at Palmer High School with UCCS SGA. At this panel, local college students were able to talk to high school juniors about different post-secondary options and the application timelines for those options.
  2. The creation of an Uber Pilot Program, which will allow students without access to a vehicle the ability to have up to $15 of rides covered. Each of the 100 selected students will have up to 8 rides covered during Blocks 5 and 6.
  3. Connecting CC students with the COS area - Check out our spreadsheet that highlights opportunities at CC and in the Colorado Springs area, including restaurants (especially BIPOC-owned), voting resources, volunteering opportunities, art, and more!
