Cosmic Race, Rainbow People, and Other Myths: Race and Racial Identity in the Latinx Community: How do Latinx people see themselves racially? As white? As indigenous? As black? As mixed? These questions are explored in the presentation by examining the historical and contemporary forces that shape that identity. Using historical documents, images, and statements, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the racial frame that shapes Latinx racial identity.
