A hold may be placed on an item that is already checked out by following the steps listed below:

1. Find the item for hold in the Books and Media tab.
2. Click button that says "Place Hold".
3. If you are not logged in, you will be prompted to log in to your library account. *Campus community will use Single sign on, Community Borrowers will use email address and library card number.
4. You will be asked to confirm the hold. After you confirm, your hold has been placed.

You will receive an email notification when the item is ready.

Items are picked up at either the Tutt or Seay Library, the location will be noted when you place the hold.

This item will be held for you at the Circulation Desk at Tutt or Seay Library after the item is returned by the current borrower.

To place a recall for urgently needed items, please call or come to the Circulation Desk at Tutt or Seay Library.

Items recalled for reserve must be returned immediately. Other items are subject to recall if the current borrower has had it for more than two weeks.

If an item is recalled, it must be returned as soon as possible. Fines will accrue at $5.00 per day.

Recalled items must be picked up within 10 days of the date of the notice of availability. If they are not picked up within this time, they will be given to the next person on the waiting list or returned to the shelves.

If you are in isolation due to a positive COVID test but need library materials, please do the following:

1. Contact Tutt Library Circulation Department by email (tuttcirc@coloradocollege.edu) or phone (x6184) with detailed information on what you need. Call numbers from the library catalog are most helpful.
2. Name another person (friend, roommate, etc.) who you authorize to pick up your books. If you don’t have someone who can help, we can ask Campus Safety to deliver to on-campus residences.
3. Your books will be checked out to you and put on hold at either the Tutt Library or Music Library Circulation Desk for your designated helper to pick up. If Campus Safety is delivering, allow at least one day for them to deliver.
