Colorado College is one of the top liberal arts colleges in the world—and it’s not because we’re located 6,035 feet above sea level. Many of the brightest young minds come to CC because our academic environment prioritizes focus and flexibility, setting you up for whatever the future throws at you.

High-intensity interval learning

With the Block Plan, you take one class at a time. That means you can fully devote your focus and energy to whatever course you’re taking. You’ll typically have class in the mornings from 9 a.m.–noon, leaving your afternoon open to spend lunching at Rastall or The Preserve, in clubs or other activities, or exploring Colorado Springs.

Dive Into the Block Plan

Blocks That Rock.

For one block, you could take GY150 Environmental Geology, where, instead of sitting in a classroom, you’re off in the mountains taking core samples. In another block, you could take CC104 The Empires Strike Back: From Anti-Colonial Resistance to Star Wars, where you will discuss the history of resistance and revolution in deep dive comparisons with cinematic context. And, in another block, you can take a standard class like PY100 Introduction to Psychology that’s anything but standard (the twist is you’re handling human brains with 24 peers).

The magic hour.

At most colleges, hour-long classes make it hard to get deep into discussion. Just as you're settling in and getting focused, class is almost over. But at CC, the Block Plan gives you three-hour classes, which means time to move past small talk and into real, meaningful conversation. That’s when the magic happens.
