Elizabeth Benedict '16
Elizabeth Benedict graduated from CC in 2016 with a major in education and substantive coursework in sociology. Throughout her four years, she was a volunteer action mentor, worked in the Admissions Office as an admission fellow, and was a teacher's aide in 2nd, 3rd, and 10th grade classrooms.
Since graduation, Elizabeth has worked in the Sarah Lawrence College Admissions Office, which is located 30 minutes north of NYC, but she lives in NYC. She spends free time with friends and family, playing squash, reading, exploring NYC, traveling, doing yoga, and cooking. She is also a mentor to a 9th grade student for a nonprofit organization called CitySquash.
Although she isn't sure what is next on her professional agenda, she will certainly be in the field of education. She encourages other who want to be in higher education to work in the offices they are interested in professionally, while at CC. "This would enable them to see what working in that field is actually like and would provide opportunities to connect with staff mentors."
