The Ritt Kellogg Memorial Fund provides Education Grants to support CC students in the development of their outdoor technical skills. They are open to all CC students, and students who have either received a RKMF expedition grant or plan to apply for a grant in the near future are strongly encouraged to apply for funds. Applicants must make a demonstration that the technical skills provided by the training are appropriate for their skill level and development as an outdoorsperson.

Funding is available on a first-come, first-serve basis for 75-100% of the course registration fees. Students with significant financial need can apply for funding for lodging while at the training and transportation to and from the course. The maximum award is $600 per person, including registration fees and lodging. The percentage of the proposal covered will be based on student financial need. Education grants are limited to one grant per semester, per person.

Students interested in courses offered by outside organizations are encouraged to independently review and assess the quality and nature of these programs for themselves. The determination of a course qualifying for funding and meeting the goals of the Ritt Kellogg Memorial Fund Education Grants is up to the discretion of the RKMF Coordinator and Advisory Committee.

The application for Education Grants is available on Summit and reviewed on a rolling basis. Applications are due at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the course. Late applications will not be accepted.
