Ja'Toria Johnson

Officer for Tournaments and Travel

This is Ja'Toria's second year of Mock Trial, and she can't believe she's back! She is a sophomore, an FYP mentor, and Co-Leader of CC Students for Christ. In her free time, she enjoys writing poetry, creating digital art, and having quiet time. She can't wait to make more new friends and enemies (of course!).

Jasmine Liu

Officer for Recruitment and Retention

Jasmine is a sophomore, and this is her second year on the team. Outside of Mock Trial, she works as a writing center tutor (come say hi!) and at the courthouse downtown. She is currently binge-watching Pretty Little Liars (and she desperately needs someone to rage vent to). She is excited for another fun and challenging year of mock trial!

Connor Williams

Officer for Communication

Connor is a senior from just outside Seattle, Washington who is in his second year with Mock Trial. He plans to attend law school after college, following in the footsteps of his elder sister and both his parents. In his free time, he enjoys reading, writing, watching television (including of course Law & Order--original and SVU), playing video games, and looking up interesting facts on the internet. He is very excited to be in the Mock Trial program again and is looking forward to this year.

Competing Members

Avey Riberdy

Avey is a Colorado native who joined Mock Trial to improve her public speaking skills and learn about the law. She is hoping to be a lawyer when she grows up. She enjoys being outside, not being cold, and CC's beautiful community.

mt-team-photos-2024-web-kiko.jpg

Kiko Dominguez

Kiko is from El Paso, Texas, and has been doing Mock Trial for eight years now. Unlike many of his teammates, he refused to use ChatGPT to write his bio. The End.

mt-team-photos-2024-web-saiyette.jpg

Saiyette Donti

Saiyette is a sophomore at Colorado College. She joined Mock Trial to practice her speaking skills and gain confidence in presenting. Saiyette enjoys trying new foods, hiking, and watching movies in her free time.

mt-team-photos-2024-web-mary.jpg

Mary Oswald

Mary is from Colorado, and has moved to various places within the state. Mary enjoys spending time in the mountains, especially climbing, skiing, and hiking.

mt-team-photos-2024-web-brendan.jpg

Brendan Paul

Brendan is from Weston, CT. He enjoys spending time in the outdoors hiking or climbing. Back at home, he has two fluffy German Shepherds. He wants to go into environmental law after CC.

mt-team-photos-2024-web-peyton.jpg

Peyton Kifer

When freshman Peyton Kifer isn't busy watching Dance Moms, he's in the Mock Trial courtroom ready to defend justice (and win arguments). With a passion for advocacy that started back in his high school days, Peyton knows how to craft a solid argument and has a knack for thinking on his feet--as a witness, it's certainly a sight to see. Peyton brings wit, determination, and just the right amount of flair to every case. Future lawyer? Maybe. Fierce competitor? Absolutely.

mt-team-photos-2024-web-haydon.jpg

Haydon Massengill

Haydon's preferred landing spot was Shifty Shafts. He would then rotate to Tilted Towers, and, if he survived, he would rotate to Loot Lake. Depending on the location of the circle, he would take time to get materials, and then enter into the endgame. His preferred inventory was simply and AR and pump plus three slots of heals, but sometimes if he was feeling silly (goofy), he would use a grapple over a healing slot. He has the Black Knight and OG Skeleton Trooper. 145 Solo Wins, 85 Duo, and around 200 squad.

mt-team-photos-2024-web-ethan.jpg

Ethan Weinshel

Ethan is originally from just outside of Boston, and moved to the Bay Area when he was six, so he covers all the Colorado College stereotypes. Ethan sings a lot and plays guitar a little bit, and has been performing in theatre since he was six. He has a passion for the arts, and is practically always listening to music.

mt-team-photos-2024-web-sam.jpg

Sam Mullen

Sam is new to Mock Trial, but loves to argue, even when he is wrong. Outside of academics, Sam is an avid whitewater kayaker and loves the outdoors.

mt-team-photos-2024-web-perilla.jpg

Perilla Wang

Perilla joined Mock Trial because of a passion for law and desire to pursue a legal career in the future. Participating in Mock Trial allows Perilla to develop critical thinking, public speaking, and teamwork skills, all essential for a successful legal career. Outside of school, Perilla enjoys watching talk shows, which helps her stay informed and entertained. Perilla also finds peace in the simple hobby of zoning out.

mt-team-photos-2024-web-maram.jpg

Maram Mohamed

Maram is a freshman from Sudan who was born and raised in the United Arab Emirates. For the past two years, she has been attending the United World Colleges in the Netherlands. Maram decided to join Mock Trial because she is enthusiastic about gaining insightful analytical skills and enjoys debating complex issues. She is passionate about law, politics, business, and economics. In her spare time, Maram enjoys watching movies, playing basketball, and bonding with family and friends.

Assistant Coaches

mt-team-photos-2024-web-eric.jpg

Eric Ingram

Eric began competing in Mock Trial at Palmer High School in Colorado Springs. That team had little competitive success, but gave him a love for the activity. He joined the Colorado College Mock Trial program as a first-year student and was a member of the team that qualified for the 2020 National Championship Tournament, which was tragically canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. He's been trying to avenge that loss ever since.

Eric continued to compete with and help lead the Colorado College Mock Trial program for all four of his years as a student. After graduating in 2023, he began to help coach the team, and found that it brought him just as much joy as competing had. Beyond Mock Trial, Eric has worked as a leader of the Ranger Department at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, and is currently an aspiring paralegal.

mt-team-photos-2024-web-wren.jpg

Wren Porter

Wren began their journey in Mock Trial competing three years for Lakewood High School. Wren attended Colorado College, graduating in 2022 with a degree in Molecular Biology. They competed with the Colorado College Mock Trial team for all four years. After graduating, Wren decided that they couldn't get enough of Mock Trial; this will be their third year coaching CC's Mock Trial team. Wren works as a chemist at Industrial Laboratories where they conduct drug testing on race horses.

mt-team-photos-2024-web-shaffer.jpg

Shaffer Kirschenmann

Shaffer discovered her interest in trial advocacy at the University of Iowa, where she competed for the University of Iowa Mock Trial team for four years. After graduating, Shaffer moved to Colorado Springs to start work as a criminal defense investigator with the Office of the State Public Defender. She enjoys live music, thrift shopping, and skiing.
