The Academic Events Committee contributes to the academic program at Colorado College by working with College constituencies to schedule special lectures, performances, and events for the Campus community. The Committee also receives nominations for Colorado College honorary degrees and selects candidates for the honor to be considered by the President and Board of Trustees. The Academic Events and Honors serve to deepen appreciation for the diverse fields of academic inquiry at CC, to stimulate discussion around a common theme, and to create and strengthen connections across the academic divisions ---- with and between student interest groups, across fields of study, and throughout the employment ranks of Colorado College. Many of the events are made possible by the vision and philanthropy of generous alumni, parents and friends who provide endowed lecture funds. All require strategic action, time, and energy from members of the Colorado College community who are committed to the life of the mind and liberal education. Many events are open to the Colorado Springs community, and they offer a means to build bridges between the College and the civic realm, political activists and policy makers, scientists and humanists, pragmatists and idealists.

The all-campus Academic Events offered at Colorado College are as follows. Many departments and programs also offer symposia and lecture series, and the information about those may be found on the department and program web pages.
