People • Place • Power is a multi-season long-form narrative podcast that explores how activists, artists, and unlikely changemakers shape their places and communities. This podcast is a counter-narrative to dominate discourses that only white Western people and institutions possess the agency and power to promote positive change in “other” communities- historically marginalized communities and communities of color. The podcast refutes the neocolonial conventional wisdom that postulates “white saviors” as the solution to the problems faced by marginalized communities and instead centers on the voices of people from around the world who are working to engender positive change in their communities.
