Safety Notice
September 30, 2025
On September 26, 2025, Campus Safety received a report from a student regarding an unknown male subject who exposed himself while walking along the Academic Walk by Tutt Library. The subject was described as a Caucasian male in his 30s, medium build, with brown hair, a full beard, wearing dark athletic shorts or pants, and black shoes with white soles.
The suspect drives a white late model Toyota Rav4 with a Colorado green and white license plate.
A subsequent investigation conducted by Campus Safety revealed that this subject was encountered previously on September 11, 2025. Reports have been filed with the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD). CSPD is working closely with Campus Safety and those directly impacted by these events.
We encourage everyone to take a moment and review your safety and security practices:
- Be Aware of Campus Safety Services: Familiarize yourself with the Campus Safety resources available. CC offers programs like "Safe Ride", self-defense workshops, safety tips, and timely warnings/alert notices.
- Download RAVE Guardian and Register to Receive RAVE Alert Messaging: RAVE Guardian and RAVE Alert Messaging
- Avoid Walking Alone at Night: Whenever possible, walk with a friend or use well-lit pathways. If you need to be out after dark, consider using the Safe Ride program.
- Lock Doors and Secure Belongings: Whether you’re in your dorm room or studying at the library, always lock your doors and secure your belongings. Please don’t leave valuables unattended, register your bike, and use a U-Lock to secure it.
- Have a Plan When Going Out: Before heading out, let someone know your plans. Share your location and expected return time with a friend or family member. If you’re attending a party, be cautious about alcohol consumption and always have a designated driver.
- Know Emergency Procedures: Understand the emergency protocols on campus. Colorado College uses the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) for all emergency messaging. Familiarize yourself with the SRP.
- Report Suspicious Activity: If you see something unusual or concerning, report it to Campus Safety immediately. You play a crucial role in maintaining a safe environment for everyone.
