Deka Spears

Deka Jordyn Spears(They/them) was born and raised in Richmond, California. A first-generation college graduate, they earned their Bachelor of Arts in Creative writing and minor in LGBIT studies from the University of California, Riverside and Master of Science in Higher Education from California State University, Fullerton. 

Deka is a neurodiverse queer and trans person of color. Their experience navigating the intersections of being LGBT and living with disabilities has informed their work and fueled their passion serving currently and historically marginalized individuals. They have dedicated their work to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) with a particular focus on supporting students in the LGBT community. 

Outside of work, Deka is a proud fur parent to two cats and a dog, and has a passion for horror cinema.
