Highlights of Slovenia: Culture and Natural Beauty
September 10-20, 2027
Dear Colorado College Alumni and Friends,
Join fellow curious travelers and Professor Doug Edlin on a trip to Slovenia, one of Europe’s most exciting up-and-coming destinations. Slovenia is full of natural beauty, deep history, and rich culture.
You will begin and end this journey in the capital city of Ljubljana, with stays on the shores of stunning Lake Bled and in Piran, a town set right on the Adriatic Sea. Along the way, visit beautiful cathedrals and centuries-old castles, view spectacular waterfalls, and explore Postojna Cave—one of Europe’s largest and most awe-inspiring cave systems. This all-inclusive tour features delicious meals, many of them with local cuisine, and stays in four- and five-star hotels.
Doug Edlin, McHugh Professor of American Institutions and Leadership, will accompany this tour. As you explore the region, he will provide background on the Slovenian legal system and its distinctive traditions of judicial independence, fundamental rights protection, preservation of the rule of law, and current political challenges to these traditions.
Sincerely,
Cindy Hyman ’82
