Prentiss Benjamin

Prentiss Benjamin trained under the Bolshoi ballerina Alla Khaniashvili in Los Angeles, California. There, she performed soloist roles from ballets including Legend of Love, Don Quixote, Giselle, Raymonda, The Sleeping Beauty, Dying Swan, and Romeo and Juliet.  She was a finalist in the prestigious Music Center Spotlight Awards.  While in New York, she taught and performed with Manhattan School of Ballet and currently teaches at UCCS.  Prentiss is also a stage actress, having performed extensively in Colorado at Theatreworks and The Arvada Center.  Recent credits include Marie Curie in The Half Life of Marie Curie; Van Helsing in Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really, and Annie Cannon in Silent Sky.   Some additional regional credits include Boeing-Boeing (Arts Center of Coastal Carolina), Bluff (The Boarshead Theatre), Vivie in Mrs. Warren’s Profession, The Dining Room (Cape Playhouse), The Importance of Being Earnest, The Mousetrap (Fulton Opera House), and Leading Ladies (workshop, The Alley Theatre). In New Jersey, she has worked extensively at Playwrights Theatre, originating roles in new plays including the award- winning Sunrise at Monticello. Prentiss has been seen Off-Broadway in How To Build A Better Tulip (Theatre Row), Rouge Atomique (Manhattan Theatre Source) and Romeo and Juliet (TheatreWorks USA).  She is a graduate of Northwestern University and a proud member of Actor’s Equity.
