Jane Kaczmarek, Narrator

Jane Kaczmarek is best known for her role as Lois on television’s award winning Malcolm in the Middle, for which she received 7 consecutive Emmy nominations , multiple Golden Globe and S.A.G. nominations, as well as the Television Critics Award two years running, the only woman to be so honored.

After graduating from The University of Wisconsin and Yale School of Drama her career began with the iconic TV series St Elsewhere, The Paper Chase, and Hill Street Blues and the feature film FALLING IN LOVE with Meryl Streep and Robert De Niro . She has starred in innumerable films and television series since, and continues in her role as Judge Constance Harm on The Simpsons. Ms Kaczmarek co-starred with LaKeith Standfield on Apple TV’s limited series The Changeling, and will appear with Alfred Molina on the Duffer Bros. new Netflix series, The Boroughs.

In New York , Kaczmarek has appeared both On- and Off-Broadway at New York Theatre Workshop, The Public Theatre, The Second Stage, The Manhattan Theatre Club, and for 7 seasons at The Williamstown Theatre Festival, where she and Alfred Molina appeared in AND NO MORE SHALL WE PART directed by Annie Kauffman, THE ROOMMATE by Jen Silverman directed by Mike Donahue, and TELL ME I’M NOT CRAZY, directed by Moritz von Steulpnagel. Additionally, Jane is a frequent host and reader on Public Radio‘s SELECTED SHORTS both on tour and at Symphony Space in NYC, where she also hosts MOVIE NIGHT WITH JANE. Los Angeles theatre credits include

KINDERTRANSPORT (Ovation Award), the premiere of Donald Margulies’ Pulitzer Prize winning DINNER WITH FRIENDS directed by Dan Sullivan, RAISED IN CAPTIVITY (L.A. Drama Critics Award) and GOOD PEOPLE (Ovation nomination). She and Alfred Molina recorded A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE for BBC Radio and starred together as James and Mary Tyrone in the Geffen’s production of LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT, which was filmed and is available for viewing on BROADWAY HD.

For LA Theatre Works , Jane appeared in AWAKE AND SING directed by Bartlet Sher, and DEATH OF A SALESMAN opposite Stacey Keach, among others . Ms. Kaczmarek also notably shared the role of the Stage Manager with C.O.D.A. Oscar Winner Troy Kotsur in the Pasadena Playhouse/Deaf West co-production of OUR TOWN.

Kaczmarek is the founder of Clothes Off Our Back, an online auction of celebrity finery that raised over $4M for children’s charities,including $100k Jane won on Celebrity Jeopardy. She has traveled throughout Africa and India visiting the children and hospitals that received help from the organization.

A great lover of classical music, Jane is a trustee of the Pasadena Conservatory of Music appearing in their Musical Interlude Concert Films on Erik Satie , pianist and holocaust survivor Alice Herz Sommers and BEL CANTO by Ann Patchett .

She serves on the Board of Pasadena Educational Foundation where she received the 2024 Exemplary Service Award for her work with theater students in The Pasadena Public Schools . She is also a Trustee of the 2023 Tony Award winning Pasadena Playhouse under the artistic leadership of Danny Feldman.

Jane has raised 3 children in Pasadena and now divides her time between Pasadena, New York City , and her home in the Berkshires.
