Purpose of the Office
The Office of the Chief Operating Officer advances Colorado College’s mission by aligning people, systems, operations, and strategy across key areas that support the student experience, institutional effectiveness, campus operations, and cross-college collaboration.
The office provides leadership for student success, technology, events, experiential education, institutional research, academic records, campus safety, the library, and operational governance.
The Office of the COO helps coordinate work that crosses departments, supports effective decision-making, and strengthens the systems and structures that allow the College to operate well. Our work focuses on:
Supports student persistence, academic progress, and coordinated care across the student experience.
Maintains academic records, registration, course scheduling, degree progress, and academic policy implementation.
Provides access to scholarly resources, research support, archives, learning spaces, and information literacy services.
Plans and supports institutional events, campus gatherings, and major College ceremonies.
Information Technology Services
Provides technology infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, support services, and digital strategy for the College.
Campus Safety, Parking, & Emergency Management
Supports campus safety, emergency preparedness, response planning, and coordinated risk mitigation.
Leads opportunities that connect classroom learning with applied, community-based, global, career, research, and field-based experiences.
Institutional Research and Effectiveness
Provides data, reporting, assessment, and analysis to support planning, decision-making, accreditation, and institutional learning.
Coordinates cross-divisional groups and processes that address complex operational issues, improve systems, and support transparent decision-making.
