CC Launches Search for Third Member of ADEI Leadership Team
“Build a diverse and welcoming workplace environment and culture; lead efforts to imbed the principles of antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion and belonging for all college staff; and revise college policies and procedures particularly as they relate to the equitable distribution of power and staff workplace satisfaction.” Those are the key elements of the newly created assistant vice president for staff equity and inclusion position. The person in this role will provide strategic vision, thoughtful and collaborative leadership, and guidance as a member of the college’s three-person antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion leadership team. The search is now underway, in partnership with Spelman and Johnson search firm, which anticipates introductory interviews by May 20. The campus search committee will select first-round candidates by the end of May; interviews are expected to take place in June, with finalists’ visits to campus possibly in late June or July.
