The Colorado Springs LGBTQ+ Oral History Project announces the release of its Fourth Season! This Season features nine new oral histories of queer and trans locals based in the Springs. All interviews were conducted by Colorado College students enrolled in Project director Rushaan Kumar’s course “LGBTQ Social Movements in the US”. Established in 2020, the Project aims to honor the struggles, triumphs and every day experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer and trans residents of Colorado Springs. In an environment where LGBTQ+ people’s humanity is perpetually diminished, this archive seeks to preserve the complexity, contradictions and tremendous richness of LGBTQ+ lives, and document firsthand accounts of the Springs’ LGBTQ+ history.
