At CC, Dan was a member of Beta Theta Pi and Blue Key: and permanent class president. He was also an early participant in the reinvigorated Alumni Leadership Program, 1975-1985. He served on the Board as a Charter Trustee from 1995-2014, and was the Buildings and Grounds Committee Chair, 1996-2012 (up to dissolution). He is now a Life Trustee. Dan served on the Campaign Executive Committee, 1997-2001. He and his wife, Beth, established the Bethany Anneberg Cooper Fund or Art History and The Marie Coleman Cooper '26 Scholarship.

He is a parent ('96) and son of a CC graduate ('26).
