RM207 - Hip Hop and Ya' Don't Stop: Issues, Debates and
Provides a rigorous historical and theoretical understanding of the emergence of hip hop culture. The course examines how this expressive form both reflects and shapes existing social relations, and analyzes the relationship between hip hop, youth-politics, youth-violence, commercialization and globalization.
