What are racism and sexism? Why are people prejudiced? What can be done to improve the strained relationship between groups? This course will introduce students to various frameworks for understanding prejudice, intergroup perception/relations, and the management of conflict between social groups. Students will examine case studies, psychology theories, and will think about their own perceptions of and interactions with people from different social groups. Students will also reflect on the notions of multiculturalism and social justice. Meets the Critical Perspectives: Social Inequality requirement. Meets the Critical Learning: SHB requirement.
