The course addresses both the origins of critical theory and the more contemporary modernist and postmodernist variants. Authors discussed may include Horkheimer, Adorno, Marcuse, Althusser, Habermas, Foucault, and more recent thinkers. Meets the Critical Learning: SHB requirement. (Not offered 2025-26).
