PH180 - Power and Equity: Philosophical Perspectives

An exploration of the conceptual roots of discrimination against racial and ethnic groups, women, and minoritized people. The course examines the ways in which self-professed ideals of equality have been inconsistently realized; investigates relations between patriarchy, racism, and capitalism; and considers the role of reason in both advancing and hindering justice and equity.
