This course examines relationships between U.S. law and Hip Hop. Taking an interdisciplinary approach—with a particular focus on politics, Legal Consciousness, Critical Race Theory, and Hip Hop Studies—the course attends to topics including crime and justice, mass incarceration, gender, Constitutional Law, Intellectual Property Law, Corporate Law, Criminal Law, and Real Property Law.
