ED451 - The Early Childhood Education Imperative - Policy and Practices Towards Equity

This course critically engages students in the economic and sociopolitical context of early childhood education in the U.S. Students investigate policies and practices that inform affordability, accessibility, equities, and quality of early childhood education. Students research contemporary and emerging policies and practices, such as the Colorado Universal Preschool Initiative and Workforce Innovations, that envision a promising future wherein young children and their educators collectively thrive. (Not offered 2025-26).

Prerequisite: Any one of the following: Education 101, Education 110, Education 120, Education 131, Education 205, Education 210, Education 211, Education 225, Education 235, Education 250, Education 255, Education 280, or consent of instructor.
