Family and Friends Weekend
We look forward to welcoming you to campus Sept. 28-30 for Family and Friends Weekend 2018!
Spend some time reconnecting with your student and experience first-hand the people, programs, and places that make Colorado College a true original.
While you’re on campus, visit the newly renovated Tutt Library. With nearly 1,900 visitors each day, the library — the largest carbon-neutral, net-zero energy academic library in the country — is the intellectual heart of campus. Make sure you head up to the fourth floor for an incredible view of Pikes Peak!
Another hub of activity you’ll want to explore is the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center at Colorado College. Guided by three principles — excellence, access, and collaboration — the FAC provides innovative, educational, and multidisciplinary arts experiences that elevate the individual spirit and inspire community vitality. Within the framework of our recently formed alliance with the FAC, creative collaborations between academic departments and the museum have significantly enhanced CC’s educational mission.
The library, Fine Arts Center, and the new student residential community on East Campus each embody CC’s pioneering ways. Development of these areas, as well as emphasis on empowering our students to take innovative approaches to problem-solving and increasing support of scholarships, are top priorities for Building on Originality: The Campaign for Colorado College.
Family and Friends Weekend will offer many ways for you and your student to enjoy time together. Faculty presentations, open houses, a student research and internship symposium, athletics, a community picnic, tours, and exciting arts opportunities are just some of the events in the works. The full schedule will be posted as it becomes available. To get an idea of what to expect, you can browse the 2017 schedule and see photos from last year’s weekend. Registration will begin in August.
Hope to see you on campus in September!
